Blog Entry- Number 1

1. The future of twelve-year-olds should not consist of choosing and selecting various jobs. Normally, twelve-year-olds are still stuck in school which will affect the 12-year-old and the company the 12-year-old works for; Profits will falter for the company and education will be deserted. 12-year-olds shouldn't be cooped up in working, they deserve their education and learning. Education and learning will get them farther in life instead of getting paid $5.00 an hour for some job they probably won't have fun doing. I also don't think it is a good idea because some 12-year-olds can have the brightest potential in sports and even be scouted by teams but they can't join the league because they have work. Usually, twelves still have a young metabolism so they easily have a disadvantage to others. Finally, I think twelve-year-olds shouldn't choose their jobs right now because it will stress them out. These pre-teens will suffer from school work and different teachers all day then realize they need to be ready for work. 12-year-olds are already stressed from tests and quizzes so what make you think they want to work at a crummy job? The best part of being 12 is knowing that you still can have fun and hang out with friends. The worst part would be having to wake up early in the morning for some lousy job. Being 12 doesn't mean having to work completely isolated from fun, it means staying healthy and get a better education.

2. 12-year-olds in this society are tracked down and influenced by their child-like minds which leads them to believe different things positive and negative. These influences can also affect their future. Those who do drugs and experience different and irresponsible activities will be just another failure in life. Those poor homeless people you see on the curve of the street, they had potential but wasted it on alcohol and drugs which will sink their own ship in life. 12-year-olds can also be influenced by people. Drug-users influence those who pity them and those that 'just want to have fun.' However, sport players and celebrities can also affect others social life and popularity. To me, my hero is Derrick Rose. Derrick came from a rough childhood and is now the MVP in basketball. Derrick showed me that if u believe, you can accomplish anything. Everyone has to be influenced; Everyone has their own hero. As seen from 'The Giver,' the Chief Elder is influenced by Jonas. This is clearly recognized by this quote from the book: "Finally, the Receiver must have one more quality, a quality that I can not describe. The quality to look ahead of others." This quote means that Jonas has a quality great enough that the Chief Elder cannot describe. This proves that he is influenced by Jonas. Therefore, words and quotes from others can also influence young 12-year-olds. In conclusion, negative and positive influences can change a 12-year-olds future.

3. What will be my future? My future will either consist of being a drummer, guitarist, basketball player, detective, or DJ. If I were to choose one, I would be a detective or basketball player. It sounds easy to pick one, but actually it isn't. I started thriving for basketball time ever since I became more in-depth with it late last year. My inspiration of this occupation; Derrick Rose. Derrick showed me that perseverance can and will lead me to success. Just the feeling of basketball gets me pumped up and ready to play. I was even able to reach the finals for my basketball team in my league this year because of my perseverance. Rose is the youngest MVP in basketball history in only his third year at age 22. I feel that basketball is just what I want to do when I grow up. However, my other interest like criminal minds and forensics, leads me to believe that I should be a detective. My inspiration of this second occupation; My overall intelligence in forensics and discovering clues + murder trails. I am proudly able to say that clues for me will just lead me to other clues which leads to success. Not that I want to be famous, but I want to be one of those well-known detectives that have their own t.v show. I've acquired this interest 2 years ago after watching one C.S.I episode. I immediately thought that forensics would be a very good job and a job that will help me release my intelligence to a worldwide broadcast audience. If not these jobs, I seek to be a bass player or drummer for hard-rock songs with com-pulsing and brain-banging beats. I seek this job next because these jobs will help me express my feelings and internal beats that I've kept inside for many years. If any of these jobs don't work out, I plan to be a DJ. I chose a DJ because of the overall appearance and happiness that will come out of it. I just want to have fun with being a DJ and this is more of an occupation for me to let loose and scratch the records for enjoyment. These are the occupations and jobs I wish to achieve in my future.

My Very Perfect World

Go ahead and listen to those singing birds as the vocalize a wonderful tune of pleasantness and calmness. Feels good right? Unfortunately, everyday is not like. Crimes, injustice, gloomy days; They are all apart of out natural society and it's just how some people are in this world. But what if there was 1 day of a perfect and moderate day. The difference would be major but the overall hospitality is most important. This is the brief and content story of just 1 day of a perfect society, government, and WORLD.
As I awoke from a deep and soothing sleep, I found many alterations: There were no crimes located and broadcasted on the news, I heard young children screaming in high upbeat voices with each other in a pleasant and happily manner, and I just felt that today was perfect. I still heard the tweeting of flashy birds and the screaming of unruly neighbors but it just sounded right. The neighbors screamed in a very elated tone. In a short deep breath, I sprung out of bed and entered in the mode of cleanliness by showering and getting ready for the day. When finished, I stormed out with a thrilled smile and went on with my now-peppy life.
My first encroachment outside was just mind-shattering: Everyone was having fun and everyone was enjoying life. I experienced happiness. Friendly neighbors were accompanied by friendly children. Everything was just right. After that, I just carried on with my life as if it were like normal. However, while committing these actions I was treated right. When I got back home, I knew today was the best day ever.
SUMMARY:
Differences from real world- no crimes, young children screaming with upbeat voices, and a 'perfect' feeling. (Paragraph 2)

Similarities with real world- tweeting of flashy birds, screaming of unruly neighbors, and carried on with life as if it were normal. (Paragraphs 2 + 3)
Ordinary day- paragraphs 2-3

The 'Jimmy' Incident

After getting straight A's on all of his assignments, Jimmy knew that he was the most sophisticated man in the entire universe of his generation. Jimmy was an elite math wizard and a strong commanding scientist as well as a highly-proficient football and basketball player. However, there was 1 weakness that Jimmy faced that would probably haunt him forever in his life: Jimmy was actually a mysterious dragon that served as a homicidal killer at night that hunted innocent people that consumed chocolate strawberries. This was English-town, New Jersey where strawberries were easily accessible. As the A's kept piling on Jimmy's desk, the body count of deaths arose with smears of strawberries flowing through their blood streams portraying blood.
It was a gorgeous and radiant morning in English-town today. Birds chirping and children playing, it was a mighty fine day. A perfect day for Jimmy. Today was May 13, the day known for an annual strawberry eating contest. It was an all-day process so Jimmy couldn't resist attending this phenomenon for he knew, the contestants will be very fat and chubby with chocolate strawberries that tickle Jimmy's tongue with flavor and satisfaction. There were 23 contenders that seek the $12 grand prize for unlimited strawberries for an entire day. Jimmy was set to go until he was stopped short by his English teacher, Mr. ObviouslyStupid. He needed Jimmy's assistance for a project he was about to give to the class. "Mr. Jimmy Generic, " Mr. ObviouslyStupid pronounced. "You are needed to help me set up a project for my class. Can u help?"
"Sure," I replied stepping into his old-smelling English room.
Jimmy was sure enough he was going to miss the chowing frenzy so he decided to do something very rational. He went on and clobbered Mr. ObviouslyStupid with his bare knuckles. Then, he chewed down his teacher whole with enjoyment in his dragon-stage. After completing his business, he strolled out and proceeded to the competition.
Jimmy lasted through the whole entire eating invasion, by watching closely to Fred Bobby. Fred was the champion heading into this free-for-all. When the craze came to an end, Jimmy noticed Fred won. That was his next victim.
When Jimmy approached Fred backstage, he immediately knocked Fred out by slamming him against the water fountain that is now dripping of red blood. However, when Jimmy dragged Fred across the shiny and now-slippery floor, Fred had consciousness. Fred quickly swiped Jimmy's legs to cause him to trip in an awkwardly fashion. Mr. Bobby took advantage of Jimmy's deficit by damaging Jimmy with his fists. Jimmy was almost-simultaneously dead on impact.
Jimmy Generic is now dead and resigns in his coffin in Flint, Michigan.

Special Blog Post: The Girl Without Her Syrup

Jacob Rose was just about to start creating her magical pancake and syrup mix until she noticed that she is forgetting a special ingredient: The syrup. Panicking, Jacob decided to reminisce about where it might have been. This is the story inside Jacob's worried and frightened mind at the time she noticed she has no syrup.

As Jacob Rose the little girl entered her house with a smiling face, she knew she was ready. Jacob was planning on going to the annual pancake festival in her school to batter and create wonderful pancakes with a satisfying syrup which will cater the consumer's need of sweets. Rose was sure she had everything; The flour, the bread, the sauce, the cake, the eggs, the sugar (she snagged from her crazy and extremely old neighbor,) and the syrup. Tomorrow was the actual cooking show and she confidently knew she was ready. However, there was this one student that rose above all other contestants: Daniel McDonald. Daniel withstood several beatings from his grandpa and mom to be the master pancake maker he never dreamed of being. There were other children cooking for the top spot as well, but Daniel and Jacob were most-likely going to take the championship.

Friday morning arrived and Jacob woke up to an upbeat heart which meant she went into battering-mode. She took a shower, dreamed about pancakes while she was putting on her clothes (a story in which pancakes that took over a mysterious planet,) ate breakfast (pancakes,) and made sure she had all of her ingredients. Rose stormed out the house and took a bus ride to her school. She sat next to a very ill and hungry hobo in the back of the bus. When she reached her destination (Pancake Elementary School,) she suddenly dropped her needs to make the syrup. In a loud and aggravated voice, the bus driver told the hobo and Jacob to "scram". In a rush, Jacob exited the bus in a hurry. The hobo needed to go to Parkerson Ave. which was two stops away. Dumbfounded, the homeless man smelled syrup. In fact, it was Rose's syrup. As happy as an early bird, he chugged the whole bottle down but then he died because he had too much sugar.

Later at the school, Jacob finally came to a realization that she forgot her syrup in the seat next to the now-dead hobo. Scared as a child on Halloween, she started to cry. A leading and winning Daniel took the championship but then he did something strange: He assisted Jacob in making her pancake and syrup combination. Although she lost the battle, she became friends with a young Daniel McDonald. As they grew older, they married each other. Then, they started a family business in which they made pancakes and they lived happily ever after. The End.

This is the syrup that Jacob lost and the syrup that killed a hobo

Pursuit Of Happiness: Will Smith

I think that Will Smith was really mean and cruel to his son because he crushed his dreams of being a professional basketball player. I am a basketball player so I understand what it's like for someone to tell me that I am not good or I'm a "fail." In my opinion, I think Will was either jealous or just didn't want his son to get far in life as a basketball player. However, towards the end of the movie, Will knew he was wrong and returned to his furious and dejected son. Will then stated a very important and probably life changing statement; "Never let anyone put you down..."
This can help me in school by teaching me that whatever I do is great and awesome and that I shouldn't care about negative criticism. Will's son later accepted his father even though Will was wrong. I think that this clip can really help me get over all the negatives in life and allow me to be myself without having to change just because my work isn't good or someone doesn't like it. This clip started very roughly with a sad and depressed son but later got better when his dad apologized and taught him a life-lesson.

Speeding Limit

Speeding Limit is a well-known motor speedway which has the durability of sustaining multiple amounts of fatal collisions and is also known as the biggest race of the year. Jacob Lining, the greatest Nascar driver in the world, will participate in this event. Lining captured the title by completing 700 laps around the turf. As Jacob prepared for this race, he knew he had outstanding opponents. In order for Lining to achieve glory, he had to finish 750 laps and avoid destruction. With 15 minutes left until showtime, Jacob stepped into his Wonder Bread car and imagined himself winning.
As Jacob's engine blasted, he was followed by the other cars. With 200 laps to go Jacob was listed 3rd behind Jacob Gordon and Kenny Smith. Lining shifted into high gear, changed his angle of trajectory, then shot out to take the lead. With 1 lap to go, he took the slight lead and won the race. However, after the race he crashed into Jacob Gordon after a malfunction between their cars and sadly died.

Henry Killingsburg

Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Henry Killingsburg who was killing everyone in town. Henry was never caught by the police because he was feared by all the policemen so they kept their distance, and left Henry alone. Henry was only ten years old but he had the most premier weapons and the most strategic brain with him. When Henry found out that somebody he attacked managed to stay alive, he was emotionally frustrated. Filled with rage he went to the "Comedian Palace" to relax and find out more ways to torture people.
Henry went to the area to find out he was actually having fun. After hearing a funny joke, Henry laughed and laughed all the way home, but he couldn't stop laughing. After two weeks of non-stop laughter, Henry laughed so hard an long that he died. The End.

Freak The Mighty: Mood

In the book Freak The Mighty, I have witnessed friendship between Max and Freak. I have noticed this by their reactions toward each other and their mood when they see each other. At first enemies, Freak and Max developed a routine that Max will carry Freak on his shoulders and freak will show him directions. The following post below will state how they show friendship with the page number along with the meaning of friendship.

Page 17: Quote- "Because Freak really lights up and he goes, "The knights were like the first human version of robots. They wore this metal armor to protect them and make them invincible..." Freak is explaining to Max about Knights so they are conversing and a friendship slowly takes place.

Page 39: Quote- "Freak is still holding tight to my shoulders and when they ask him for his name, he says, "We're Freak The Mighty, that who we are. We're nine feet tall, in case you haven't noticed." Freak is telling the cops that he and Max are Freak The Mighty and that's why the book is titled, Freak The Mighty.

Friendship, to me, is the action of friendliness and making sure each member or peer is in comfort. Friendship is more than watching each others back and standing up for them, it is when you care and trust each other. There were many sights of friendship throughout this book between Max ad Freak, too many to count.

Robotic Activity

With robots invading Earth, Jacob must come and save the day. Highly geared with weapons and ammunition, Jacob was a former Vietnam War veteran while serving for the Navy Seals. When the robots were closing in on a pure clear-cut victory, Jacob was called for his service. Mechanical, brain-washed, and drastically-advantaged robots against the experienced, ruthless, and armored Jacob Johnson.
Johnson was knew what it took to fight and compete in invasions similar to this one. He destroyed fifteen cities while serving for the Seals and rescued Sgt. J.J Stopper from an elite army in Northern Asia. Jacob annihilated these robots as if they were just another road block in his way.
As the invasion came to an end, Jacob Johnson knew he still had work to be completed. Heroically, Jacob sacrificed his life while defeating five hundred robots with a single grenade in a gasoline warehouse. His name is now carved in statues, monuments, and terrific sites all over the world.

Electives Are Freedom, Applications Are Not

Electives. Some say freedom, others differ from that statement. Middle schools across America are debating whether or not students should fill out applications for electives. The reason of this situation is the knowledge and well-being of each student. Some educators agree with applying for classes because they feel scholars should be enlisted in classes with peers that share the same amount of knowledge. Others do not because the people in lower classes may feel insecure since they are not one of the elite students in the school.

The main factor of this subject is the knowledge of each student. In order to be in a higher class, a student must excel in the elective. In order to be in a lower class, a student must do poorly or under-achieve in the elective. Is it the student's fault that he/she is academically challenged? Is it the student's fault that he/she is not as smart as their peers? Is it really necessary to create a whole new curriculum for the students that are smarter? Do students get a chance to express themselves to their full potential in a lower class? These are the questions that follow when students are forced to make applications.

In my opinion, making pupils fill out application forms, resumes, and cover letters is not-needed and not necessary. What if students don't know how to make cover letters, resumes, and application forms. Will students have to be sent to lower classes even though they have intelligence with their chosen elective? Schools already make students do not-needed work so why will they make them do more? Adults of this time period did not have to make resumes, cover letters, and application forms when they were younger, so why would children of this time period have to? Not only is this act unfair, but it puts students through a lot just to do something they enjoy. Does that mean principals don't care about their students if they make them do all this work? Maybe principals had a bad day so they want to relinquish their anger on students by making them fill out resumes and cover letters. I understand what this act will do, but I disagree with the outcome. If students don't care about their grade, why not let them fail?- it's not our fault they don't want to make an effort and do the work in an elective.

Filling out application forms would not be done by myself, but will you give in after everything I told you and make the application form, resume, and cover letter?

The choice is yours
